It gives us great pleasure to announce the five winners of the Culture Matters Bread and Roses Award for Songwriting and Spoken Word 2019.
We were supported this year by the Communication Workers Union and the Musicians Union, which meant we had a much wider outreach to musicians, songwriters and spoken word performers. The response was fantastic. The quality of entries was at such a high level that the time it took us to judge was longer than we anticipated.
We also had some excellent feedback from entrants who loved the idea of what we are trying to achieve with the Bread and Roses Award. So we would like to thank both the CWU and MU for enabling this Award to take place, and to thank all of the wonderfully talented entrants.
So huge congratulations to...
Amy Fitz Doyley – Human
Ben Young – RBM Trotkia
Luke Hall – 3AM
Steev Burgess – Reality
Steve Pottinger - Impulse
Our YouTube channel has some of the other entries as well, with more to be added soon.
