'arise!' and the Bread and Roses Poetry Award 2019

Thanks to everyone who contributed to our crowdfunding appeal to make a film of the poem 'arise!' by Paul Summers. We reached the target and will be making the film - watch this space.

The winners of the Bread and Roses Poetry Award are as follows:

Bank by Rob Walton, Dark by Paul Summers, Spine stronger than the back of the Earth by Martin Hayes, I grabbed ahold of my own cunt by Jane Burn, and Pencils by Dave Hubble. 

We will be publishing these poems online soon. They will also be published, as well as 30 others which have been chosen by the judges, in the 2019 Bread and Roses Poetry Anthology - watch this space.

It was a pleasure to receive and read all the entries - thanks very much to everyone who entered.
